January Detox: Lemon Detox Tea

Makes 4 cups

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups              filtered water
  • 1 whole           cucumber, sliced and pealed (can save peals)
  • 1-2                   lemons, juiced
  • 1 bunch           parsley, or for a more intense detox, try cilantro
  • 1 tsp                fresh grated ginger
  • (optional)         dash of cayenne, ground

Instructions:

  1. Peal and slice the cucumber and place in a pot (including the peals for added nutrients).  Juice 1-2 lemons, to taste, and pour juice in with the cucumbers. Chop the parsley and add to the pot. Add ginger.  Mix all ingredients (including the cayenne pepper if adding) with the 4 cups of filtered water.
  2.  Heat on low for 20 minutes, let cool if needed and drink.
  3. Option: can refrigerate and have cold if preferred.

Best to have first thing in the morning, warm.
