Care as unique as you

The Block Center: Personalized Nutrition for Every Person and Lifestyle

Maintaining biologic balance within your body is essential to fighting illness; the trauma of surgery, radiation and chemotherapy can deplete stores of your key nutrients.

We know that a sound, specifically designed diet, enhanced by a carefully charted regimen of supplements and treatments, will aid your body in ridding itself of disease, preventing further illness or recurrences, and sustaining overall good health.  Sadly, if not surprisingly, many cancer patients die from complications of malnutrition; however, we are experts in providing  nutrient and supplement formulations that rebuild you while countering tumor growth.  Teaching patients the importance and how-to of healthy eating has been one of the cornerstones of our integrative approach to cancer treatment.

“Nutrition is an essential therapy for a patient’s successful battle with cancer”
-Keith I. Block, M.D.

Like many people today, you may find yourself bombarded daily on television and in newspapers and magazines by legions of self-styled nutrition “experts” --- all heralding certain foods as sure-fire ways to improve health.  But many news stories confuse rather than clarify.  Questions and uncertainty are bound to occur.

The Block Center’s registered dietitians and nutritional researchers combine expertise in the clinical application of optimal nutrition with our philosophy of caring for the whole person.  They will answer your questions and help give you the sense of confidence and reassurance  that comes with knowing the difference between food facts and food fads.

Nearly 30 years of study and clinical observation have resulted in the Block Nutrition  Program, and established the Block Center as a leader in the field of nutrtitional therapy for cancer care. Like all our therapy programs, ours are specifically tailored  for each individual person, and only finalized after extensive evaluation of your unique biochemistry and consultation with you on the various aspects of your life.

Our dietitians  will help you incorporate your new nutritional agenda into your daily life, and provide you the information you’ll need to integrate healthy foods into your meal planning.  We’ll provide you recipes, cooking classes and smart food combinations; educational seminars and counseling are also offered to help you transition to eating more healthfully.

And, by making these healthy lifestyle changes, you’ll be taking an active, controlling role in your own cancer treatment and care, and feel better as a result.
